ABOUT STORY SEEKERS
Helping kids become skilled readers, good humans, and lifelong book lovers.

When I think of reading as a kid, I’m immediately transported to that cozy nook under my comforter where, by flashlight glow, I voyaged to worlds real and imagined.
Coming from a long line of English teachers, it’s no surprise that my love of books led me to earn my BA, MFA, and PhD in literature and writing and spend over twenty years teaching at every level from elementary school to college.
Even though teaching is my life’s work and passion, in the first year of homeschooling my children, I felt like a fish out of water. The resources out there seemed like public school 2.0. Beyond that, as my oldest daughter advanced, I was sad to see the lack of curricula designed to keep middle graders excited about books.
During grades 4–8, as young learners transition from "little kids" to "big kids," they long for self-exploration, deeper learning, and community. Research shows that this is the moment when reading attitudes and abilities are established.
I founded Story Seekers to help homeschooled middle grade readers build skills, character, and a lifelong love of books.
Story Seekers’ Literary Quests take homeschooled students and independent learning cohorts on transformational journeys through modern classics. Our self-paced Book Guides let students choose their own path through the text, while caregivers get support through supplemental Parent Guides. Our favorite part? Weekly virtual Book Talks that let learners socialize with peers as they dive deeper into the wonders of each book.
With multiple Literary Quests offered annually, you’ll discover everything you need to map out an unforgettable year of great books and connection, all for an exceptional value. There’s nothing like rigorous learning wrapped in fun to turn your child into a confident learner and a book lover for life.
This isn't your public school ELA curriculum stuffed into a PDF. It's middle grade reading reimagined!
